Activity Rooms
As well as information on the paddocks and pens, there are 3 activity rooms to help you learn more about the animals.
In the Sheep Activity Room you can,
- see what comes from sheep
- see a replica Shepherds Hut
- watch a video about wool
- try your hand at weaving mint sauce a new coat
- play a game to get your sheep to market
- see different types of wool and how it can be dyed, and
- get a closer look at the shepherds tools.
In the Cattle Activity Room you can,
- Listen to Rosie the cow and Farmer Ferrers
- Feel a real cow's hoof and tail
- See how a cows jaw works and pull out the cow's tongue to see how long it is
- Look in the fridge to see how much milk Rosie gives us in one day
- See the meat in the Butchers Shop window
- Find out about hay, straw and silage
- See what Farmer Ferrers is doing to look after his local environment
- Try your hand at milking Rosie the cow (just outside the room)
In the Pig Activity Room you can,
- See the strangest pig at Marsh Farm
- Do a brass rubbing of the pig pictures
- Guess the farmyard smells
- Play with the giant misfits to produce some strange farm characters
- Play a board game all about pigs
